Steve Goodman is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Goodman Financial Corporation, a fee-only money management firm founded in 1988.

In addition to being a CPA, he is also a CFP® and is registered as an investment advisor with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

He is a 1983 and 1985 graduate of the University of Houston, with an undergraduate in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the Conrad N. Hilton College and a masters of science in Accountancy and Taxation from the Bauer College of Business.

Goodman spent two years with the Big 8 firm of Arthur Young prior to founding his firm.

He has been very active with TSCPA at both the state and chapter level for many years serving as chair of numerous committees, as a member of the Executive Board (2001-04; 2006-07), president of the Houston chapter (1996-97), as a member of the TSCPA Board of Directors since 1994 and for two years as chairman of the TSCPA's Strategic Planning Committee.

In 1993-94 he received the Houston Chapter/TSCPA's "CPA of the Year" award.

Steve and his wife Hilda have three daughters (Roxanne, Emily and Amy) and two grandchildren (Dylan and Chloe). His hobby is work and some occasional fishing.
